Lot’s of people love to eat dirt cake. It’s often served at parties for children. The cake looks a lot like dirt. Eating dirt is kind of funny.
Children who eat dirt but not dirt cake should be examined. This could be due to mental retardation. There are problems involved too. Animal feces in the dirt might attract parasites. Dirt may also contain toxins. Sometimes children ingest small amounts of dirt. However, some children eat far too much. It could be caused by anemia. That is having an iron efficiency in the blood. In such a case a vitamin or supplement that contains iron will help the child kick the habit.
Don’t expect dirt cake to be a traditional cake. It’s primarily cookies and pudding, with a few other things added. People serve it in pails. Add a shovel to really have fun. It can even be topped with gummy worms or candy flowers.

Start a dirt cake with Oreo crumbs. These are layered with pudding and whipped topping. Add the last layer of cookies just before eating it. It’s delicious.
It can’t be said that dirt cake is a diet food. Almost every ingredient is fattening. Every serving is loaded with calories – 900 or more. People who are into reading labels will understand just how bad that is.
Dirt cake can fit in to a well-balanced diet. It’s all about moderation. Eat a very small piece. Or save it for the day you get a little treat. Long term eating makes or breaks a diet. Everyone needs a little something special once in awhile.
